Ex Soldier and his Wife

Gertrude Davies, of Darfield, yesterday at Barnsley, obtained a separation order, of 25s per week against her husband Owen Davies, whom she alleged continually assaulted her when in drink.

Defendant, a discharged soldier, denied his wife’s allegations, and said that he was willing to maintain his two children, but would not pay a penny piece to his wife.

Complainant was given the custody of the children, one whom stated that her father, holding a carving knife, and her mother out of the house.
