Darfield Attack.
Clout with Clout.
A brush in a backyard at Darfield had a sequel at Barnsley on Wednesday, when May Yates, of Darfield, summoned her sister-in-law Edith Athey, for a assault.
Mrs. Yates said that when her husband came home from work on Sunday, October 20th, Mrs. Athey attacked him. Witness remonstrated with her, whereupon defendant shouted, “If you come here I will give you some as well,” Suiting the action to the word, she then struck witness in the face.
Defendant: I was falling out with your husband, not with you.
Defendant alleged that Mrs. Yates struck her with an oven cloth.
William Henry Yates, husband of the complainant, corroborated.
A fine of 10/- was imposed.
