Soldier – Leonard, Joyce – Serving in A.T.S.

August 1942

IN A.T.S.

Joyce Leonard (20), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Leonard, of North Street, was on leave last week-end.

She is in the A.T.S. and is now a lance-corporal. Joyce is on the AA guns and enjoys the work. When raids were made on one town some months ago, Joyce was stationed near by and they were the first A.T.S. serving on AA. guns to go into action. Afterwards she got an extra leave in recognition of the fact.

They have their own dance band and Joyce acts as vocalist.
