60 Years an Educationist
Mr T Harding of Darfield
Resigns Cooperative Post
The resignation Mr Timothy Harding, of Darfield, from the position of chairman of the Education Committee of the Barnsley Cooperative Society, announced at the half yearly meeting in the Public Hall, Darfield, on Monday, brings to a close a long and honourable Association with educational institutions in South Yorkshire.
Mr Harding enter the teaching profession as long ago as 1869 – a year before the passing of the Forster Education Act of 1870 – was a headmaster of Wesleyan School for 30 years, and counting the time he has been connected with this phase of Cooperative service, and had been engaged on educational work without a break for 68 years!
