Ready To Shoot

Arthur Lackey (21), son of Mr. and Mrs. A. R Lackey, West Street, Darfield, joined the R.A.F. about six months ago and in that short space of time has succeeded in passing out as a Sergeant Air-Gunner.

He  was presented with his brevet somewhere in Scotland recently and has since been home on leave.

Before joining up he worked at the Houghton Main and Darfield pits.

Brother, Eric Lackey, is in the Royal Engineers.  Arthur has never met his brother since he joined the Forces.
