Colliery Accident and Death

On Tuesday a boy named Jacob Newbury met with an accident whilst following his employment at the Darfield Main pit, is indeed been such a character as to necessitate his removal to the hospital.

On Tuesday the youth George Hewitt, who several years ago met with injuries at the Darfield Main colliery as to necessitate the amputation of both his arms, died after a brief illness from inflammation and congestion of the lungs.
