Darfield 103 Swinton 53
Darfield had the unaccustomed luxury of a Mexborough League victory on Saturday when, thanks to brilliant bowling by J. Needham, they made hay of Swinton in a home match.
The Darfield batsmen performed moderately against Pearce and Bickerstaff, the Iatter taking 7 for 56, and they totalled 103, F Brown (25) and G. Burkinshaw (24) being the principal scorers.
Except for a capital innings by Sam Williamson, Swinton crumpled up badly, and were all dismissed for 53. Needham brought off one of the biggest bowling performances of the League season, taking 8 wickets for 28.
