Monk Bretton were lucky to defeat Darfield on Saturday by two wickets. Darfield could make little impression on the bowling of S Johnson, who finished with 6 for 15 in 15.3 overs. With Hartigan and Roberts top scorers with 14 each, Darfield made 54.

Monk Bretton replied with 55 For 8, of which D Dalton knocked up 15. The most successful Darfield bowlers were Hartigan (4 for 20), and Hughes (2 for 9).
