Mr Oxley Powell, Secretary of the Darfield Bible Class sports club has had a great deal of experience in junior football management. He is also a capable Player and turns out for his side when occasion demands.

Recently the Sports Club decorated their new institute in School Street and last week installed a brand new full sized billiards table. At the same time they had the old one re-covered for the use of junior members. All the lads worked energetically last week scrubbing the floors and making the place spick and span for the official opening in a few weeks’ time.

The institute has been placed at their disposal by Canon Sorby, who takes a great interest in the members. The Bible Class has over one hundred members and is one of the oldest and strongest in the district.
