Barnsley Chronicle August 10, 1907
Another big bowling performance by W Brown, who has had a remarkably successful season, enabled Darfield to mop the floor with Stairfoot and Ardsley.
Brown captured the first nine wickets for 11 runs, and then Green spoiled the sequence by securing the last wicket. Page notched just half of Stairfoot’s total of 34.
Spooner (24 not out) was the batsman chiefly responsible for the runs being hit off with only one wicket down.
