The Darfield Drowning Case – Inquest
An inquest, touching the death of William Bagshaw aged 17, was held at the Rising Sun, Snape Hill, Darfield on Thursday Week.
William Bagshaw, the father of the deceased, stated that he saw his son alive on Sunday night at 10 o’clock, which time it was in good health. He said that his son had been in the habit of basing near the same place where he met with his death.
William Rogers, a boy who was last with deceased, also gave evidence, and a verdict of “Accidentally drowned” was returned.
The funeral took place on Thursday afternoon at the Parish Church.
