Darfield Forward For Nelson.
Bernard Radford, a Darfield footballer has been transferred to Nelson.
Radford, who has played for Wath Ath. and Wombwell, is a product of the Dearne Valley Old Boys. He commenced his football with the Dearne Valley schools then with Old Boys, and partnered Wilkinson, now of Sheffield Wednesday.
He was partner to Wilkinson for five years, and during each ‘mon was the leading goal scorer. In season 1921-22 he broke the local record in junior football by scoring 100 goals in one season. He joined Wath in February, 1925, and went to Wombwell a year later. This season be has played for Darfield.
He is 19, stands 5f t. 9ins., and weighs 9 st 10 lbs
