The home team kicked downhill, and soon scored.

One of the West Melton players (Cook) was sent off the field.

The visitors broke away and succeeded in equalising. The half-time score was one goal each.

On resuming, play was even, both goals in turn been assailed. After a scrimmage in the home goal the ball was put into the net, thus giving Darfield the lead.
