Defrauding Great Central Railway

William and Mary Ann Huddart, 2, Snape Hill Road, Darfield, travelled from Bulwell Common Sheffield on the Great Central Railway and tendered the fare from Darnall.

They thereby sought to defraud the Railway Company of 3s. 6d. each.

“The woman,” said Inspector Naylor, who prosecuted, “was the worst, she called out wrong address loud enough for the husband hear it.”

The woman was fined £2 and the male defendant £1.
