House Repairs at Darfield
The question of repairing the houses of a private owner was raised at a meeting of the Darfield Urban Council last night.
The discussion arose out of a letter sent by four tenants of New Street, and the surveyor had told them he could get nothing done because the landlord had no money.
Mr. A. Colllndrldge said they had been very patient with the owner, and the time had arrived when they ought to use their powers under the Housing Act, carry out the repairs, and recoup themselves from the rents.
The Council decided carry out the work at a cost £16O.
