Notable Service at Darfield

With 53 year’s service in pit work to his credit, Mr Robert Randerson (66), 76 Nanny Marr Rd, Darfield, a member of the Darfield U.D.C. has a lot to look back upon.

He started at Houghton Main colliery as a lad aged 13, and is still in the active list at that pit. Most of the years of service have been “in the coal.”

Mr Randerson has a remarkable service of public services and has been a member of Darfield UDC for 35 years, several as chairman.
