Sailor Brothers

Jack and Warneford Fearons sons of Mr. and Mrs. G. Fearons, Barnsley Road, Darfield, both joined the Navy.

Jack, who is 20, is in a minesweeper, and has not been home for nearly two years.  He has been to Sicily, Salerno, Capri and Anzio.  Before enlistment he was in the butchering trade, and was for some time a chorister in the Parish Church choir.

Warneford, who is 19, is a signaller in an M.T.B. and loves the life.  Recently he came across Petty Officer Griffiths, of Havelock Street, Darfield, who was coxswain of “Darfield’s” Motor Torpedo Boat.
