Sailing The Seas

Kenneth Wilks (21), a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wilks, Barnsley Road, Darfield, joined the Royal Navy some sixteen months ago.

He is a signaller in a cruiser and has made many voyages on the high seas. He was a member of Barnsley Road Wesley Bible Class, and was an assistant at the Edward Street Grocery Department of the Barnsley British Co-operative Society.

He is one of six brothers. Jack one of his brother who was in the R.A F., got his discharge last year, following an accident in a mock air-raid, when he suffered a seriously fractured leg.

Another brother in the R.A.F. has recently returned to England from the Middle East, and one is doing his bit in the Home Guard.
