Lance Corporal Walter Briggs (R.E.), son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Briggs, of Garden-Street, Darfield,has been awarded the Military Medal for gallantry and devotion to duty.

He has been serving since January, 1916, and previously worked at Houghton Main.
