Private Henry Lazenby
(York & Lancs),
eldest son of Mr & Mrs Albert Lazenby, of Millhouses, Darfield, has been missing since July 1st.
Lazenby who is 25 years of age, enlisted on February 8th this year, and has been in France about 2 months.
Prior to enlistment he worked at Houghton Main.

Note:
The 8th Battalion York and Lancs Regiment was part of III Corps. They were the leading Battalion the left of the 70th Brigade, in the attack near Ovilliers.
The Battalion as it went over the parapet numbered 680 NCO’s and men and 23 officers.
Of these only 68 men returned
