South Yorkshire Finalists

Pictured are Ronnie Latham (Darfield Main), and Billy McHale (Hickleton Main) Yorkshire’s two representatives in the National Coal Board’s amateur boxing championships at the Empire Pool, Wembley to-morrow (Saturday).

The Duke of Edinburgh will see them box.

Latham is last year’s N.C.B. lightweight champion, former schoolboy champion and Great Britain and Army Cadet champion in 1946. He represented England against Sweden and Ireland last year, and against Scotland this year.

McHale is the Northern counties and London area A.T.C. welterweight champion and was a semi-finalist in the N.C.B. titles last year.
