The Yorkshire Coal Traffic to Hull
The official returns of the quantity of coal sent from the South and West Yorkshire collieries to Hull by rail and water during the first month of the year had not been quite so large as in the corresponding period of 1882. Still, a fair business had been done.
The quantity sent by water was 49,432 tons, and by rail 49,676 tons, making a total of 99,108 tons for the month. This showed a decrease of 1,968 tons compared with the same month of the previous year, when 101,076 tons were sent.
Despite the general fall, Denaby Main still headed the list with an increase of 368 tons, the quantity supplied last month being 12,392 tons.
