Wedding: Belshaw & Thompson

Miss Gwendoline Belshaw daughter of Mrs. F Jobbling and the late Mr. Belshaw of Bricklayers’ Arms, Low Valley, was married at Darfield Parish Church last Thursday to Mr. Martin Thompson, Barnsley Road, Darfield. There was a large congregation.

The bride was given away by Mr. Jobbling, and wore white georgette with silk lace trimmings and godets, and carried blush pink roses and fern.

There were four maids: Misses Francis and Nora Jobbling, wearing green floral georgette and black panne velvets berets and Misses Irene Thompson and Mary Illsley, in shell pink satin and black velvet berets. All four wore chain necklets, gifts of the bridegroom, and carried yellow iris and white carnations.

The bridegroom was attended by Messrs. John Belshaw and George Thompson.

Mr. and Mrs. Jobbling entertained a large number of guests at the Bricklayers’ Arms.
