Wedding – Cox & Foulstone

April 1932

Mexborough and Swinton Times, April 22nd, 1932

There was a large crowd at Darfield Parish Church, on Saturday, when the marriage took place of Miss Maud Cox, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Cox, Nanny Marr, and Mr. Thomas Stanley Foulstone, second son of Alderman and Mrs. T. H. Foulstone, Snape Hill, the Rev. E. C. Tippetts officiating.

The bride was given away by her father and wore ivory Irish Cluney lace with the new leg-of-mutton sleeves. Her long net veil, thrown over her face when she entered the church, was surmounted by an orange blossom coronet. She carried a shower of palest pink tulips and fern.

Five bridesmaids were in attendance. Joan Cox was a dainty maid of honour in a Kate Greenaway gown of shell pink silk suede with frilled skirt and lace Dutch cap. She carried a Victoria posey of primroses. Jessie and Nancy Cox wore shell pink georgette with epaulette sleeves. The senior, Misses F. Millsom and C. Randerson, had gowns of pink and brown floral ninon, and wore pearl necklaces and earrings. All wore net and flower Juliet caps and silver shoes and carried daffodils.

Mr. A. Millsom was best man and Mr. G. Cox groomsman. Mr. and Mrs. Cox entertained a large number of guests in the Church School.
