Bissett – Marrow

At Darfield Wesleyan church on Monday two prominent members of that denomination were married, the Rev. S. Hankin- Hardy officiating : Mr. Stanley Bissett, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. George Bissett, Hill Street, Darfield, and Miss Phyliss Marrow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Marrow, Church View, Darfield.

The bridegroom is a Sunday school teacher and local preacher, and for many years was secretary of the Wesley Guild. The bride’s family are also associated with the church and she has been a member of the nursing staff of a Chesterfield hospital.

The service was fully choral. Mr. Stewart White being the organist.

The bride was given away by her father and wore ivory georgette with silk lace trimmings, and carried white lilies and pink roses. The maids, Misses Margaret and Doris Marrow, wore marigold georgette with chinille velvet coatees, and carried pale pink and deep cream roses; and Connie Sokell wore shell pink crepe-de-chine with poke bonnett and carried vari-coloured sweet peas. The bridegroom’s attendants were Messrs. F. and E. Biwa.

Mr. and Mrs. Bissett are honeymooning in the Isle of Man.
