Ambitious Darfield.

Ambitious Darfield.

A meeting has been arranged between the Darfield Council and the local authorities of Billingley, Great Houghton, and Little Houghton with a view the amalgamation of those districts in the Urban Council area of Darfield.

It understood that Darfield’s smaller neighbours, though formerly against union .are now in favour of the proposal.

Great Houghton, the largest of the villages which it is proposed to incorporate with Darfield, is in the Hemsworth rural district, and very far distant from the centre of administration.

Geographically it is admirably adapted for union with Darfield.
