Beauty Queen Wanted

When the Darfield and Low Valley Hospital Committee decided that a “Beauty Queen should be chosen in connection with a carnival at Whitsuntide, they expected rush of nominations. So far only two candidates have entered.

The Beauty Queen is to be chosen by popular vote at a dance on Easter Monday, and all girls living in the district between 16 and 21 years of age are eligible. Those who cannot attend the dance are asked to submit photograph and details to Mr- J. Oxley, 22, St. Mary’s Road, Darfield.
