Bus Overturns in Field.

Alarming Accident Near Darfield.

The sharp frost, of Thursday night vas responsible for alarming bus accident at Darfield.

About 9 p.m. a 24-soater passenger bus belonging Messrs. Oades, of Thurnscoe, was proceeding from Thurnscoe in the direction of Darfield. About yards from the Darfield side of the village of Middlecliffe the vehicle skidded on the icy surface, left the road, and turned completely over in a field.

In the bus were the driver, the conductress, and three passengers—two women and a man. By lucky chance no one was seriously hurt, although the field in which the bus fell is some 6ft. below the level of the road. The bus was badly damaged.

The driver said the bus turned round on the icy road, and he was unable to retain control. Fortunately he was running slowly at the time.
