Darfield’s Capital Performance.
On the Castleford Town ground yesterday Darfield beat the home team by three goals to two. Darfield were the better side, and made the best of their opening; but it must be said Priestley was not safe in the Castleford goal.
Cooper scored first for Castleford. but goals by Coulson and Ratford put Darfield ahead before the interval. In the second half Jones netted the equaliser, only for Ratford to again give his side the lead. Two minutes off time Castleford should have equalised from a penalty, but Bast struck the crossbar.
