A Darfield 14-Year-Old.

The Darfield club have taken up the idea of encouraging boys to play bowls and have already found one who takes very well to the game: Frank Marley.

This youngster is promising to hold his own with a good many adult players before long. He did well in the club tournament held last week.

He reached the semi-final round after beating several players. In his semi-final tie he fully extended Livesey, one of Darfield’s best players, and was in the end beaten 21-17.

The other semi-finalists were Lowe and Bowskill. In the final match Livesey beat Lowe 21-9.

Darfield are admitting juveniles to membership at a nominal fee of 1s. 3d.
