In a high scoring friendly at Darfield on Sunday the home side proved victorious in a limited overs match which provided splendid entertainment for the crowd basking in the warm sunshine.
Highlight of the Darfield innings was a first ever century for opening batsman Ken Kitching who hammered the ball all over the ground for a hard hit 118 which included nine sixes and 11 fours. He was well supported by Stuart Anderson (31), Trevor Marsden (25) and George Urien (15). Best bowling for the Nomads was Cunningham 5 for 58 and Vickers 3 for 43.
The visitors batted with equal determination particularly Stevenson 71, Robinson 65 and Firth 38. Darfield wicket takers were Hurst 1 for 16, Harris 1 for 30, Ennis 1 for 21 and Anderson 1 for 45.
