Darfield Account Problem

At a meeting of Darfield Urban Council last night, Mr. F. Ely, chairman of the Finance Committee, said the bill for £7 17s. 6d. submitted by a local firm could not he included among the accounts for payment because the Surveyor had declined to initial it.

The Surveyor had told the Committee it was all right so far as he was concerned, but he was not prepared to sign it of his own free will.

It was agreed that the chairman should sign the account.

The Council gave instructions for the preparation of plans for the erection of an additional 46 houses of the three bedroom type.
