Barnsley Chronicle July 13, 1907
Darfield easily maintained their unbeaten record against Houghton, whom they disposed of for an insignificant 22, the innings proving little better than a procession to and from the wicket.
Brown (four wickets for 7 runs) and Needham (4 for 8 runs) were the chief executioners, Brass getting the remaining wicket – there was a man run out – for two runs.
Without turning a hair, so to speak, Darfield got the necessary runs, J Needham (11) and G Spooner (21), both not out, doing all that was required.
