Ald T.H. Foulstone was elected chairman of the Darfield Urban Council last Friday in succession to Miss H Killarney, who has held the position for two years.

Ald Foulstone holds many public offices, and has resided in the district for 40 years.

He has been a member of the Council for eight years, and a member of the County Council for a longer period.

He has done much to further higher education in this district.

He is a prominent trade unionist and a Primitive Methodist local preacher.
