Darfield Urban District Council

Mr S Taylor presided last night.

The medical officer reported that there have been 15 births and three deaths during the month.

The Council decided that the width of the gauge of the proposed tramways from Barnsley to Darfield through Wombwell should be 4ft 8 ½in, instead of 3ft 6in. It was agreed to press the company for the wider gauge of line.

As it was resolved, on the motion of the Chairman, that the question of taking gas by bulk from Wombwell should not be further entertained.
