Dearne Valley Juniors

The influence of Barnsley Grammar School on local South Yorkshire League cricket is marked at the moment.  Nearly every club in the district has its quota of “Old Boys.”

Perhaps the most promising is Warren Kilner, a relative of the famous cricketing family. He is now assisting Darfield, and got a couple of wickets very cheaply on Saturday. Other ex-Barnsley boys who are doing well are W. Hesketh, Brampton, S. Anderson and E. Hirst, Darfield, and the Kilners and Washington’s of Mitchell Main.

We hear L. Dakin, who assists Mitchell Main when he is on vacation from London University, has just gained his B.A. degree.
