Found in the Canal at Wombwell

A second body within a week was recovered from the canal at Wombwell late last night.

Deceased, whose name is John Burke age 60 years, and who had lodged at 2, Hope Street, Low Valley, Darfield, has worked at the Darfield Main colliery for the past 30 years, but latterly has been much depressing consequence of chronic rheumatism, which prevented him following his employment.

Burke left home about 6:15 pm and his body was found about 9 o’clock
