Memories of former Sheffield United and England player, Fred Tunstall are recalled this week by this picture of the old Darfield St George’s team, kindly loaned to us by Mr E Taylor of 26 Harbour Dr, Sheffield.

Mr Taylor saw our recently published photograph of Fred Tunstall and sends an even older print.

I am sure it will be lots of happy memories for a lot of people.” He writes

However, we stand correction on one point, Mr Taylor says that Fred left Darfield St George’s to go to Scunthorpe, and not Wombwell.
