At the City ground, Wakefield, on Tuesday, a Knur and Spell match took place between Jay Beckford of Darfield, and A. Fozzard of Lee Fair, West Ardsley, who contested the best of 20 rises, with half ounce pots for £40, Fozzard being conceded 3 yards start.

Bedford proves a winner. His longest knock was nine score 56’7”, and his opponent’s best effort two foot 9 inches shorter.
