It was children’s day at Mitchell Main cricket ground yesterday, Mitchell and Darfield Main Miners welfare holding their sports meeting for members children.

Enters the 17 events is free and prizes were awarded so that it was not surprising that there was a large entry.

This proved to be a record for the five years the sports been held, over 200 children competing.

The weather was fine and many parents watch some keen racing.
