Darfield – Severely wounded

Mrs Bartram, of Gladstone Terrace, received a telegram from the War Office, saying that her son Lance Corporal C Bartram (York and Lancaster) has been seriously wounded in action.

A letter has since been received from the chaplain, stating that Lance Corporal Bartram has been seriously wounded in the back and legs.

Previous to the wall bottom worked at Houghton Main.

He has seen service in Egypt and France.
