Mr and Mrs John Brown, of Victoria Street, Darfield, have received word that their son, Private Tom Brown (Durham Light Infantry) was wounded in the right arm by shrapnel on July 31.

Private Brown joined the Forces in August 1916 and has been in France’s last December.

Previous to joining the Colours, Private Brown was in the Baker business at Barnsley
