Private Fred Carr
News has just been received by his mother that Private Carr has now recovered from septic poisoning which was caused by sore feet and legs, and his back to the trenches. Previous to enlistment Fred worked bon the screens at Houghton Main Colliery.
He writes very cheerfully to his mother , and says, “after 19 months of it he is not yet downhearted, and is very pleased to be with his pals again in the trenches.”
