Soldier – Cottom, Arthur – Missing

Mexborough and Swinton Times June 8, 1918

Mr. and  Mrs A. John Cottom of Havelock street, have received news that their son, Pte. Arthur Cottom. (Irish.Guards), is missing.

His Sergeant states that he had greatly distinguished himself in the recent fighting and was a gallant soldier.

His brother was killed in, action in June, 1916. Pte. Cottom previously worked at Darfield Main.
