Sgt J C Jackson

eldest son of Mr and Mrs John Jackson of Darfield Bridge, has been invalided home from the front with knee trouble

at the outbreak of hostilities he enlisted in the York and Lancaster Regiment.

For gallantry and devotion to duty on the occasion of the “Big Push” last July, he was promoted to Sergeant. After being in hospital in Nottingham three weeks he has been transferred to Blackpool.

Prior to enlistment he was employed at Houghton Main.
