Rifleman W Jobling

Mr Mrs William C Jobling, of College Terrace, Darfield, have been notified that their youngest son, Rifleman Walter Jobling (Scottish rifles) was killed in action of May 8.

He enlisted in February 1960 at the age of 24 time stationed in Ireland. Later he was in some of the most severe fighting in France. He always kept a cheery spirit and was greatly esteemed by his comrades. Previous to enlistment he was employed in the wagon weigh office at Houghton Main.

He was admitted to the sporting columns of this paper, we wish in this place to express our personal regret of his gallant untimely death. He was killed by a sniper.
