October 1917

Mexborough and Swinton Times October 20, 1917

Mr and Mrs W.C.Jopling, of College Terrace, have been notified that their youngest son, Private Walter Jopling (Scottish Rifles) has been wounded in the knee.

He has written home very cheerfully, stating that he had been in a big attack, and that the Germans have lost heavily.

Before enlistment he was a weigh clerk at Houghton Main.
