Darfield Officer Wounded
Lt A Saxton (Royal Engineers)
of Darfield, has been wounded in the hand by a sniper while serving on the Western front, and is now in hospital in London.
Before accepting a commission in the Army was in partnership with his brother missed J Saxton, as mining engineers, at Dore.
Some years ago Lt Saxton was employed by a goldmining company in West Africa.
He has been serving with the Royal Engineer in France about 12 months.
