Private George Shepherd, Darfield

We are glad to hear that Private George Shepherd, son of Mr and Mrs Oliver Evans, Vicar Lane, Darfield, is progressing satisfactorily after being invalided home some six months ago with frost bitten feet.

He has received erery care and attention at a Bournemouth Hospital and is now at his home in Vicar Lane on a short leave to see his parents.

Mr and Mrs Evans have three other sons serving in the Army viz., John, Walter and Thomas Alfred Shepherd. John was called up with the reserve, having been through the South African campaign, and is at present with the York and Lancasters at Salonika.

No news has been received of Walter for a considerable time. Thomas Alfred is with his regiment in Egypt.
