Above: some of the competitors. In this picture are three well known dirt track riders, J. Redfearn, of Wakefield (left), E. Davies, of Darfield (centre), and George Wigfield, of Goldthorpe (right), who has won fame on the Sheffield and Nottingham tracks, and who at this meeting set up a track record by covering the four laps in 1 minute, 45 2/5 seconds.
